- dominicjj 5y agoNaah. IT and the sciences are merit based, always have been and always will be. No one cares about your race, gender or whatever. Have you done the work? Are you competent? Great. Welcome. See for example Jeri Ellsworth, Roberta Williams, Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, the colleague of mine who wrote code for a nuclear reactor... It's because the barriers to entry include years of lonely study. Men are quite happy to shut themselves off from everything for years to learn something. Women generally aren't. We're wired differently.
