I will continue to trust the CDC, despite problems with its early test kits (reasons still unclear). Because of a gigantic shortage of masks in the national stockpile, unlimited panic mask buying/hoarding/profiteering would have deprived a lot of health-care workers from getting PPE. IMO, it was a calculation to maximize lives saved (at an uncertain time) which trumped the total BS spewing out of Washington.
