Apple is saying that he can not be an engineer at their company, yes. He would have been required to work in a large organization that is filled with people he considers "useless baggage" no matter what their accomplishments may be. He is free to be an engineer anywhere else if he manages to find a company that, for some inexplicable reason, doesn't care about that. I can't imagine any sane organization wanting to bring someone like that into their midst.
