ML is - over-hyped - very useful for some problems - nets being blackboxes makes it dangerous - hardware-hungry - nowadays useful for narrow-AI, but not even close to general AI I think unexplainable decisions affecting the lifes of of human beings (e.g. Googles Playstore App removal algorithm) are today's version of the "Terminator" movies.
