Randal O'Toole has been crashing rail conversations for years, always with wrong and misleading facts. It's not like he doesn't know when he's off (like his argument about the topography of Japan). He just bends the data however he can to support his anti-rail argument. Rail doesn't always make sense and rail projects can absolutely be poorly managed. But O'Toole adds nothing but noise to the conversation.
