Yuck. The fact that junior devs are learning this as facts of life should be a point of shame for the industry. I thought similar things when I worked at Amazon, but by and large a life built around corporate bullshit is not for me. There are other companies out there that are much more human and don’t force you to restructure your mindset around what it takes to climb the ladder rather than what makes a great software engineer.
