For slowly selling items like this, it's likely that they make a run of them, and then slowly sell them for a few/more than a few years. If they intended to make more, they'd have to make an entirely new batch, which would then be in inventory till it sold out. But given the SLR world now, they're probably not into making another big batch of them. The last film camera was like that, the last f6 was made decades ago, but it just showed up as being discontinued lately.
