Giant sea lizard fossil shows diversity of life before asteroid hit
- danparsonson 5y agoAh what I wouldn't give to be in a submarine exploring the ancient seabeds millions of years ago - can one of you please hurry up and discover time travel?
- FridayoLeary 5y agowhat would you do when you run out of petrol...........
- danparsonson 5y agoHaha presumably I could just cram some handfuls of plankton in the tank

- danparsonson 5y agoThank you, I appreciate your efforts
- chiefalchemist 5y agoNot to get off topic but it's worth mentioning that there's scientific debate over whether an asteroid ended the rein of dinosaurs. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/09/dinosaur-extinction-debate/565769/ https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/09/dinosau... Evidently, volcanic activity is also credited with giving rise to the dino era as well. So ending it isn't as crazy as it sounds. https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/atlantic-canadian-mega-volcanoes-blamed-in-mass-extinction-1.1360527 https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/atlantic-canadian-mega-volca...
- quietbritishjim 5y agoT. Rex and the Crator of Doom [1] is a great read about the actual impact site of the asteroid that (probably) wiped out (the last of) the dinosaurs. Admittedly the author is not exactly unbiased, since not only is his career built on the event but so was his father's! But still quite convincing and very interesting.
