Just throwing this out there, maybe on massive platforms like this the better approach would be
- let users flag posts
- more than X flags = autohide
- original authors can object to the autohide
- objections are reviewed by staff
That would limit the content reviewers have to see to stuff that people (a) declare authorship for, and (b) claim is acceptable.
Presumably anything posting anything horrible wouldn't choose to have their posts seen by a critical authoritative audience.
- anigbrowl 5y agoInteresting, but what about where you have groups like 'illegal content aficionados' (a fictional example, obviously) whose members revel in exchanging toxic or contraband material?
- byteshock 5y agoWell almost everyone that gets their post hidden will object to it. Which will cause most of the posts to be reviewed by staff anyways. If you post something you want it seen by others.
