If you're thinking about extrapolating what's happening in Seychelles to the US or Europe, don't.
There are several differences to consider between Seychelles (61.9% vaccinated) and Israel (56.2% vaccinated), which is much more representative:
1. MHC diversity is far, far higher in Israel than Seychelles. This means that a much broader variety of epitopes are targeted by both the humoral and cellular responses. This makes escape much more difficult for variants! (This first point is by far the most important.)
2. Per-capita GDP in Seychelles is $17.4k, whereas in Israel, it's $43.6k. Wealth is broadly protective, as it affords the ability to make decisions favoring safety over subsistence.
3. Seychelles has a total population of just 98,462 people, whereas Israel has 9,342,790 people. As you'd expect, the smaller the sample size, the weaker the conclusion.
Having said all that, let's help people in Seychelles! A rounding error to us in terms of drugs, vaccines, and investment would help them a lot.
