- cratermoon 5y agoI remember my mom working as a secretary/admin assistant and Texaco and switching from typewriters to the first mainframe based word processors – PROFS perhaps? But she'd been a typist and stenographer for 20 years by then so switching from an IBM Selectric (and before that, all sorts of manual typewriters) to an IBM mainframe keyboard in some ways improved her ergonomics. Anyone who has ever spent more than a minute or two clacking out text on a manual typewriter will know.
