I quit my job and qualified for Medicaid. It isn't means tested anymore since ACA was passed. Based only on income in the month of eligibility. I have been voluntarily unemployed since December. Obviously if you make money this doesn't work. To clarify: I own my house and have hundreds of thousands in assets and I am qualified for Medicaid. I didn't believe it either. The quality of care is great. State is PA. Edit: medicaid, not Medicare. I am not even close to 65.
