An open-source platform for building DIY sand tables
- serf 5y agoi'm not absolutely sure why everyone favors CoreXY for sand tables.. but here's another similar project from the makers of the MPCNC.[0] CoreXY is appealing as a mechanism, I just don't know why it's being so widely uses in 'toy' applications when really any style of gantry can effectively move a magnet with little resistance against it. It's quite expensive to setup usually compared to most motion platforms. Maybe everyone just likes running them as fast as possible? i've been contemplating making one of these just as a means to use up the spare steppers around here.
