- azalemeth 5y agoI've always used the Arduino IDE for building only -- the single button is nice -- and actually written code with vim. I really don't want another electron app, or vscode. I know that 'arduino' and 'vim' are targeting very different demographics, but I do wish they'd offer a bone in the other direction...
- ihuman 5y agoIn the readme, it says that "backend operations such as compilation and uploading are offloaded to an arduino-cli instance running in daemon mode." Maybe you could use that program to build, while still writing your code with vim.
- ubidefeo 5y agoYou can totally do everything with arduino-cli. I even use it inside of Python/Shell scripts to run operations
- silvanocerza 5y agoI suggest you take a look at ArduinoCLI. :) https://github.com/arduino/arduino-cli/ https://github.com/arduino/arduino-cli/ Docs: https://arduino.github.io/arduino-cli/latest/ https://arduino.github.io/arduino-cli/latest/
