How do you charge someone hourly for a static piece of code? It's already been written, the AI has been trained.
How do you justify spending money on a product that doesn't change?
- bradtemp 5y agoThese systems are expected to be constantly changing and improving, and making use of constant streams of new data on updates to roads, traffic, and more in order to run.
- Bancakes 5y agoI don't want that, I just want to drive to the mall and back.
- bradtemp 5y agoYes, but the road to the mall changes from time to time, and the parking lot in the mall changes (watch a video of Waymo having to deal with a christmas tree lot set up in the parking lot of one of the malls they take a customer to.) No, they won't sell you the self-driving without the update service because they can't pass the liability on to you unless you're very rich.
