- giardini 5y agoThe study was based on UK Biobank data so the term "cheese" probably means "cheeses that Brits eat" which may or may not be similar to "cheeses that the French eat" (which I prefer [the cheeses, not the term]). - spfzero 5y agoI wonder if cheese, in this case, is a proxy for "not eating a low-fat diet"? Since low-fat eating usually (but not necessarily) involves eating more "low fat" sugary, processed items, seed oils, and refined carbs, than a higher fat diet would. Again, on average, not to say you can't eat a healthy low-fat diet. Just that many people tend to avoid fat almost as a reflex, without understanding that some of the alternatives are much worse for them.
