Why not just run Windows 32 bit in a VM?
- app4soft 5y agoWhy not just run Windows 32 bit in WINE inside WSL2 under Windows 10 64 bit?[0,1] [0] https://liliputing.com/2019/08/wine-on-windows-lets-you-run-windows-apps-on-windows-through-windows-subsystem-for-linux.html https://liliputing.com/2019/08/wine-on-windows-lets-you-run-... While it's almost certainly due to my own ignorance, I've never gotten a VM of Windows 95/98 to be anything near as responsive and smooth as it was on 25-year-old hardware, not to mention the goalposts seem to keep moving and every few years I find my VM setup is no longer compatible with my current version of Windows. At the moment running Windows 98SE on Ryzen is totally broken, with a dozen different potential fixes none of which work for everyone. VMs are just one big pile of bullshit after another if all you want to do is run a handful of classic software titles. If Archive.org took care of that whole aspect for me it'd be nice.
