All the more reason to end the war on drugs. It would be easier to celebrate great cops if they did not go around enforcing bullshit laws about what people are allowed to put in their own bodies. In general, it would be easier to celebrate great cops if interacting with them was not the entry point to the US' horrific criminal justice system. The more we do to improve the criminal justice system, the less hated cops will probably be.

TL;DR but where did it mention the war on drugs? Don't get me wrong I agree, drugs should be freely available for consumption by addicts. Take the need to push drugs on new users by current addicts to support their addictions, take the profits away from dealers, smugglers and cartels. And yes take the career opportunities away from cops, lawers, jailers and judges. The only logical answer is to legalize and provide drugs free of charge in a medical environment so addicts dont resort to crime to feed their addictions, safe injection sites reduce user harm but those users still harm the communities they are in by creating new addicts through pushing and harm their communities by commiting property crimes to pay for the drugs. Free drugs means no more desperate people being comprimised into criminals by a narco-industrial complex.
