He found many problems with jornald remote logging. We have mobile connections and they can be poor occasionally. Syslog scored better. Whether the evaluation was fair I have no it's idea. It would have required me the same time to do my own one. But I would have preferred to see systemd win. At least in the local case the benefits mentioned by the parent comment have convinced me years ago.
