You're probably remembering a different transition, which was the move from TxVia to Fiserv for debit processing. That was in the works before the acquisition and we were right up against a deadline, and it did not go well. The later Bancorp -> BBVA transition was very smooth, aside from BBVA's policies forcing us to close accounts (e.g. they didn't support resident non-citizens of any form).
