  The benefit of cryptocurrencies is that you can use a multisig solution so the compromise of one storage location doesn't cause your stash to become compromised.

  Uhh... wouldn't you password protect the volume and have multiple copies in different safety deposit boxes, offsite vaulting-type providers, and a couple of hidden places too? Somethings like large amounts of money are worth the trouble to secure.
