It is very simple. There is no easier way of getting ahead of other employees than staying longer in the office. It requires no effort. Unfortunately it is a race to the bottom so I employ another strategy. I am the last to enter the office and the first to leave but I try to maximize my effectiveness while I'm there and solve problems a few can so they'll remember me as the guy who comes in solves the problems and goes away making the life of everybody easier.
