We teach it to our kids for crying out loud. It's imbedded into us from ~3rd grade. School starts at 7:30 am, ends at 2:30-3. After school club, then there's homework. Kids who use the 4pm to 10pm kids who study/grind hard get better grades are praised - look at Billy or Suzy here! Taking a step back - this is what happens when there's a limited resource. Any competition for a limited resource will naturally create a 'workaholic' culture since that's the way to get more of whatever limited resource there is. That's why I'm 1000% for the StarTrek replicator. We tried communism - it doesn't work.
