Was there a flight simulator game for unix with wireframe/vector graphics which perhaps dates from 70s/80s?
I remember it being listed in a book called the "Solaris games book" about games that were available for Solaris.
- emmelaich 5y agoQuite possibly Sublogic's Flight Simulator, aka Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's not mentioned in the wikipedia page, but it was ported to many systems.
- marcodiego 5y agoWasn't MSFS called Bruce Artwick's FS on the early days?

There are few actually active projects probably from mid 90s: ACM 6.0[0] (fully open-source) — an extended fork of ACM 5.0[1] (MSFS 2.0-like).[2] YSFlight[3] (freeware & partially open-source) — fully polygonal multipurpose 3D flight simulator. As a side project its developer also created Polygon Crest[4] app — open-source 3D polygonal editor on the same toolkit for creating addons for YSFlight.[5] [0] http://www.icosaedro.it/acm/download.html http://www.icosaedro.it/acm/download.html [1] https://wiki.flightgear.org/ACM_(flight_sim) https://wiki.flightgear.org/ACM_(flight_sim) [2] https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1237898195385987076 https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1237898195385987076 [3] https://ysflight.org/download/ https://ysflight.org/download/ [4] http://ysflight.in.coocan.jp/polygoncrest/e.html http://ysflight.in.coocan.jp/polygoncrest/e.html [5] https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1251227413570375680 https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1251227413570375680
