I prefer a good desktop any day to a half-baked laptop that is thermal constrained.
Agree with you there, while a 1T database is possible on a laptop I wouldn’t want to use it for real work!
- secondcoming 5y agoI was skeptical too but my laptop doesn't thermally throttle when running cinebench r23. I changed the thermal paste to Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme (I don't have the courage to use liquid metal yet). It's quicker than my admittedly old 4790k desktop to build our code
