These are great tips from someone who is a great player and has experience teaching the piano, but I'd also add that you need to also practice the theory behind the piece, specially for modern music as this speeds up the process of learning the piece. Also, we all have very different objectives when approaching piano playing. Some will want to perform live with a band, others having just some fun at home and some will try and become classical concertists. Different goals, different approaches IMHO.
