The article could stand to have more real numbers, although I don't doubt that the folks who have grid-tied solar are doing it on the backs of everyone else.
It's not dissimilar to some of the EV subsidies (or mortgage interest for that matter). By tying them to taxes, you have produced a more regressive system.
