I'm not so naive to think it will be around forever. Just that: it won't fail catastrophically like other companies. It will die out slowly. And when it does: it would be largely replaced by federated networks and indie types running their own Mastodon instances. It won't be glamorous, but it's much better than a centralized monopolistic platform running on surveillance capitalism.
