Real processors did not have stack or subroutines and CALL and RET. Cosmac did not. Nova 800 did not. Nova had write PC to memory address and jump to the next

Real processors did not have stack or subroutines and CALL and RET. Cosmac did not. Nova 800 did not.
Nova had write PC to memory address and jump to the next address. But that is not CALL. And subroutine could not be bigger than 255, because there was no RET but short jump via the stored address.
