The best maths book I’ve ever read was Measurement by Paul Lockhart (yes, the one of Lockhart’s Lament [0] fame). It’s been a long time since I read it in primary school, and I can’t remember exactly why I loved it so much, but there is one thing I remember clearly: the problems he poses are just really, really interesting. I can’t say I love problem solving, but I remember struggling with some of those problems with hours, just because I wanted to know what the answer is. Highly recommended as a way of teaching interested children (and adults!) about geometry and calculus.
