Chinese companies and state actors regularly attempt to hack US entities with zero consequences ofc. But, I never hear about US individuals/groups going on the offensive against the CCP. For example, if an American hacking group decided to serve out some cyber-vigilante payback to these genociders and somehow were identified, would they be protected by the US? I'd hope so. I mean, from what happened to malwareTech, I wouldn't hold my breath. On a wider note, what avenue is there for a diplomatic solution to this CCP problem? They're clearly on a path of oppression and destruction with no end in sight. At what point do people in tech reconsider their cooperation with Chinese companies? At what point did American companies during the Third Reich stop working with Nazi companies? I see some people in tech already making that decision - I have too. Unfortunately it's a drop in the ocean for now.
