Ironically, you are helping Facebook when you do this. Their algorithms get tuned by users saying they don't want certain ads.
This is why I stopped doing this on Instagram.

- fujidust 5y agoI did this for ALL ads on FB over many months and am now relatively as free. It helps that I only visit FB from a browser that’s isolated from other web browsing.
- pc86 5y agoOf course they do. But if you don't want to see a certain type of ad, especially one that brings up painful memories needlessly, why would you care?
