This is how all social media apps eventually work.
Apps know you get an endorphin rush every time a notification comes. Even if the notification doesn't show anything relevant, it MIGHT be important so you hurry to open it.
I had to quit these apps over this, maybe some people are able to handle constant meaningless stimulation, but I can't.
- karatinversion 5y agoI aggressively turn off notification privileges from apps. One "engagement" notification and they are gone. Works a treat.
- ghaff 5y agoI don't know how people who get notified about everything manage. For me it's basically just text messaging and calendar.
- offtop5 5y agoThey don't. Anxiety is though the roof. I don't waste time arguing about this, but I don't use social media / online dating. It wasn't good for me emotionally. I've still done very well meeting people.
