- claudiawerner 5y agoIn China's case, Communism turned out to be a restricted capitalist market economy, rife with exploitation, bribery, and international trade.
- foobarthrowaway 5y agoAgreed, communism does usually turn into a corrupt brutal police state dictatorship that institutes programs of genocide and atrocities against its own people, in which the means of production are most assuredly not owned by the people. Marx doesn't tell you that. In China's case, the turn towards capitalism in its economic policy is about the only good thing going for the regime! Their previous central planning resulted in the starvation of tens of millions of people.
