I don't mean to defend it, but I would have guessed it would be 4x higher than that.
What would be a reasonable salary for the Save the Children CEO, in your view?
- abbassi 6y agoZERO! We do a lot of services with thousands of volunteers and a big network of places, journals, leaflets (just in our own city we distributed more than two million leaflets in the last year) and find thousands of new volunteers and nobody, receives nothing. We don't accept any donations from governments, municipality, companies, etc. but only from single individuals (normally €2, €5 or foods in supermarkets) and we believe this is the only authentic way of doing voluntary activity.
- rimliu 6y agoHow do you imagine a person should survive with a full-time job and ZERO salary? Do you volunteer 5/7 9-5?
- abbassi 6y agoI DO NOT IMAGINE, but WE DO this activity, with a network of volunteers who do the activity after the office hours, weekends and for some of us who has no job at the moment (students or people still looking for a job). We pay part of our salary to fund our activities, we go door-by-door and distribute our journal and fliers and ask people to support us with €2, €5 or more. We found hundreds of supporters, and we started right after the pandemic started. You can also do these kind of activity, we opened other offices in London, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, and now we are going to open another one in Berlin in the coming months. These is a real alternative to charities funded by government and bankers, warmongers, etc.
