Very interesting idea, and honestly quite scary. I love my flow state, but I do recognize the defensiveness. Not sure I have run into making bad decisions "in the flow" yet, but I could see how it happens. If true, the bad decisions coupled with defensiveness could be a potentially really toxic combination.
