A Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Foam Rolling on Performance and Recovery (2019)
- hprotagonist 6y ago>It also reduced muscle pain perception (+6.0%, g = 0.47) yes, 6% less DOMS in the morning is worth it. Friend of mine has moved past foam rollers and uses a chunk of PVC pipe. I'm fond of lacrosse balls to really get the last bit of godawful pain out of IT bands and shoulder knots.

- antattack 6y agoI find rolling to be great for reducing sciatic nerve pain, along with stretching.
- silicon2401 6y agoHow do you roll to reduce sciatic nerve pain? I don't have any issues now, but I had sciatica before so I'd love to do some preventive care
- rich_sasha 6y agoAlso, it’s not really about performance as such, but about keeping your muscles loose. Tight muscles lead to injuries. N=1 but the difference is huge for me when I don’t foam roll (or do some other massage).
