Yes, I've mentioned the first point in my post. I could imagine this is the main reason for the better results. The second point is also good to consider. I hope a third factor is that frontend developers actually do care more about making their website more accessible.
- bryanrasmussen 5y agowhen you said "A typical personal home page is less complex than a big popular website." it was not immediately clear to me that you meant complexity from use of particular tools or introduction of functionalities, I took it to mean there is just more content on a big popular website and more chances, because more pages, to make mistakes.
