Is it cheaper if you account the losses that amount from receiving things extremely late (mail that turns into waste)? In my area, every single bank notes or bills arrive at least a month late. I've had water bills arrive 4 months late (bundled together with the ones from the other 3 months). Something is very wrong with Correios, I don't think it's the last mile however, package usually arrives on time (with up to a week of delay in worst cases).
