Maybe I am getting old but I would not want to use this technology. You already have a lot to manage as a soldier on the a battlefield and adding this networked AR junk just adds to the complexity. Also the networking probably breaks the second you introduce signal jammers into the equation. So this would be useless for mechanized infantry or other wheeled units on the current battlefield. I have spent countless hours operating under PVS-13, PVS-14 and on one rare occasion PVS-20's on the battlefield and it's already hard enough. Adding these AR overlays solves a problem that doesn't currently exist and would get in the way when clearing buildings or other confined spaces. PVS-14's were a massive leap in depth perception and I think that if they just continued to improve on that it would be enough. The US military is already the most technically advanced fighting force on the planet. We need to focus on improving our strategy more than our technology at this point.

Clarifying note -- our government needs to improve their strategy. They have failed our military leaders for the past 20 years.
