....my guess. entertainment was better during that period of time. great videos games, consistent focus on gameplay and gaming instead of MRR/ARR......we have consistently seen improved technology until around 2014-2015 when stagnation was beginning and suddenly they needed to to find more and more profit for everything....and social media was pervasive in everything thus removing the novelty from a lot of the experience. Additionally....2015 was the year that AI was beginning to be used online more particularly in the effects of manipulation and I think everyone has felt a draining of creativity in place of gratuitous mediocrity. this became a breeding ground for polarization and then the loss of general satisfaction from modern life
