- iscrewyou 5y agoZelle, a monopolized bank service, where banks can monitor it? Or ACH so my app will be delivered in 3 business days? A lot of the options for payment and what’s good for the consumer just seem so much worse than what apple is offering now. There’s a lot more people than developers. And to a user, it doesn’t matter who takes what money. As long the transaction is frictionless and Apple’s advertisements about privacy sell, there won’t be much push from the consumer side.
- Vespasian 5y agoI'm not in the US so I don't have personal experiences with these services. It would be possible to require a bank/money transmission license in order to integrate with the iOS NFC payment scheme. That would prevent scammers / untrusty startups to hijack the instant payment markets. If reasonable Apple could require some technical capabilities (time to transfer) as long as they are fair and reachable for up-to-date participants. On Android my local German bank offers a NFC payment system which works just as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay as far as I can tell.
