I switched from Linux to macOS when I moved from Python/C++ to iOS development. I felt the change wasn’t all that big. I got my Firefox, terminal, homebrew replaced apt, etc. All the command line tools are there. Under Linux, I just used XFCE so moving to macOS wasn’t a big deal. But lately I’m using Amethyst which is great. The hardware is very nice. Incredible battery life and no driver issues ever. But seriously, why don’t you try it?
