Florida to ban Facebook, YouTube from censoring Trump, politicians
- xvector 5y agoAll about small government until corporations hurt their feelings. Then they’re a stone’s throw away from nationalizing said corporation. The sheer hypocrisy. I really wonder what it’s like to be constantly performing such mental gymnastics. Surely it gets tiring? Apparently not. Anyways, this legislation will probably be laughed out of the courts.
- mikro2nd 5y agoHow, exactly, do they think they're going to implement such a ban? As a non-US person, I have trouble understanding how the legislature of one, single state could have the slightest impact or effect on entities not registered or having offices in that state.
- dataflow 5y agoThey do business with entities in Florida, which I'm guessing will be enough for the state to claim jurisdiction. I don't think this would be a US-specific notion either; GDPR affects US entities even if they have no registration or offices in Europe.
