My faith in some of the research underlying this article took a fatal hit when I read that the researchers discovered that whereas a dishwasher with no degree earned $19K, a college graduate earned $34K for the same menial task. It may just be me but that rings so untrue that it bears investigation. To me it is unfathomable why an employer would pay a dishwasher 15K a year more because he/she has a degree. I don't buy it.
