I'm a super dry person, and don't get "excited" about anything really, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. However every single organization I've been in, they just want you to show enthusiasm, they just want people to really be fans of the company and what the product is. Majority of people go along with it, and you have cringe meetings with people cheering on a stupid button that does nothing, but people don't even dare question this.
I really wish I could just code as part of a full time job, and at the same time not worry about getting excited about the feature or product I'm working on. I already get extremely excited with code, and solving problems, I don't understand the need to want everyone to give presentations, and show off their work like sales people.
