Future Cell Phone
I am worried that Google and Apple hold too much power over user's cell phone. What would be best possible alternative to take back the control?

- vhodges 5y agoThe contenders: * https://e.foundation/ * https://grapheneos.org/ * https://shop.fairphone.com/ (with e/os). There's a German phone too, the name escapes me at the moment. * https://www.pine64.org/pinephone/ (w/myriad of Linux distro choices). * https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/ (again w/Linux). * Feature phones (Jio, etc, running https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KaiOS) Personally I got a Pixel 4a with the intention of running Graphene, but haven't felt the pressing need to do the install.
