I’m 36... still enjoy late nights but find it messes up my sleep for days after even if I am fairly sensible with alcohol etc., so I’m more selective about when I go out - has to be worthwhile! Day parties I’m down for (tho they have a way of turning into night parties lol)
In London, good venues are Corsica Studios, Pickle Factory, The Cause, Fold... all pretty low key and underground. There’s good stuff in other cities too but I’m not really familiar with it any more.
Yeah, Labyrinth is the dream!
- SvenMarquardt 6y agoGet yourself over to the continent. If you start partying at 4am Sun morning you can finish at 10pm Sun night and be fresh Monday.
- tomduncalf 6y agoHa yeah that’s a much better way to do it. Before COVID hit there were a couple of London venues experimenting with longer Berlin-style opening hours. It’s as much a cultural thing as a legal thing I guess though.
- randomopining 6y agoHah savage Sven. To keep it going that long you need a cool crowd and an interesting setup imo... otherwise it's just moreso an "unnaturally" fueled marathon. I've only done a true marathon (50+ hours without rest) one time in my life in Detroit. No doubt it aged me substantially lol.
- randomopining 6y agoHah nothing like a good all day event that just blends into the night. Or next level, a night that blends into the morning. But so true about the sleep. Guess it's good because it makes you only go all in for the really special ones. Good to know, might have to try and hit this summer during a euro-jaunt if they're open. Only thing I've seen so far is Dimensions Festival in croatia. Looks decent, although a bit commercial.
