Ask HN: Laptop Stand with Space for Keyboard?
I'm looking for a highly portable laptop stand which has space for a keyboard to live underneath the laptop. I can touch type so no issue with not seeing the keyboard. My current stand forces the laptop screen to be too far away.
- matt_the_bass 5y agoHow high do you want? I’ve been sketching out an idea for a monitor stand that could be adapted for this. Would be made from plywood, press fit together and flat packable.
- mfbx9da4 5y agoHey thanks for the response. In terms of height, laptop should ergonomically meet eye level when on a desk (13in macbook pro). Would definitely be interested in purchasing if it meets my criteria. Feel free to reach out via email, twitter or other.
- matt_the_bass 5y agoWill do!
- dalmo3 5y agoI have one of those with adjustable legs [0]. You can fit a narrow keyboard underneath. Not sure what's your criteria for 'highly portable', though - this thing won't fit in a backpack. - mfbx9da4 5y agoHey great suggestion. I think it probably would fit in a backpack! However, would be good if it was a bit lighter and smaller. There is no minimum criteria for portable but ideally way under 1kg and easily foldable. I will explore more stands of similar design thanks!
