Facebook revenue rises 48%
- listless 5y agoSweet mother of Capitalism. I did not see that coming. So much for pandemic effects on ad buying. Maybe related to stimulus? And if so, that means all that stimulus money is gonna wind up in the same pockets 99% of the world’s wealth already does. Or maybe that’s inevitable.
- drannex 5y agoI wouldn't place the onus on stimulus, I would place the fact that more people were home, more people were without jobs, and more people were spending time on FB than they ever had before. The need for social relationships and contact of any kind is a high priority for most of the population. They spent more time on the site, more ads were displayed (12-15% more per post) and the cost of advertising rose.
- Tarsul 5y ago12% more ads shown and ad price increases... so... good for facebook, bad for everyone else? I've certainly noticed that Instagram has too much ads for me nowadays and don't use it anymore (maybe once a week).
- ipaddr 5y agoRemember the media boycott? Doesn't seem to have worked.
- RGamma 5y agoSomehow this makes me sad :(
- mateo411 5y agoMe too. I was thinking about buying stock, but I didn't get around to actually doing it.
